Azure or AWS experience is not necessarily required but preferred for this position; what is required is in depth experience with server and network infrastructures that were built to run enterprise applications as a foundation for this job role. | Other Info: | Willing to go W2 or 1099 corp to corp As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will take ownership of the delivery portion of our Azure and / or AWS greenfield deployments, workshops and migrations. Groupware conducts both Azure and AWS Cloud Workshops to customers who are either already in one of these platforms but struggling to operationalize their deployment or for greenfield deployments. At Groupware we also to full blown migrations or deployments in one of these leading cloud platforms. Your responsibilities will include: § Conducting either Amazon or Azure 3-5 Day Cloud Workshops (or both depending on comfort and experience with cloud platforms). You will help customers understand the basics of the chosen cloud platform, best practices how to leverage both IaaS and PaaS, Hybrid network connectivity etc. As a final deliverable provide the customer with either an AWS Cloud Formation Template or Azure Resource Manager Template to deploy a POC infrastructure framework for a production application. § Onboard Amazon Web Services accounts (Groupware is an AWS reseller). § Operational Vision: You will help customers leverage automation tools such as AWS Cloud Formation, Azure Resource Manager and Chef to build repeatable processes and leverage automation to streamline their operation. § Design and Architecture: You will do research and work with our vendors to build production ready designs that leverage PaaS services, IaaS VMs, hybrid connectivity (S2S VPN, Direct Connect, Express Route etc.). You will need to conduct design reviews with customers to get buy off and demonstrate our knowledge of the cloud platform and go forward vision. Finally, we will deliver deployment of these designs utilizing code in the form of AWS Cloud Formation Templates, Azure Resource Manager Templates, Chef recipe's, PowerShell DSC Configurations etc. § Streamline Operations: Many of our customers are already utilizing Azure and / or Amazon Web Services and they are struggling to bridge the gaps between the developer / engineering teams and the operational teams that need to answer to their executives and customers when things go wrong. A major part of your role will be to bridge this gap and help streamline operations between these teams utilizing documentation skills, pipeline development (Git, Jenkins etc.) and most importantly good people skills! Qualifications Skills and Experience § 5+ Years infrastructure implementation experience (Servers, networking, load balancers, Linux and Windows Server Operating Systems, VMware and / or Hyper-V or KVM). § Experience with Powershell, Chef or Ansible as well as other scripting and automation technologies. § Chef or Puppet experience is a big plus. § Experience moving workloads from on premises to Azure or AWS a big plus. § Knowledge around monitoring and analytic tools (Splunk, ThousandEyes, DataDog etc.) § Strong network fundamentals (Routing, Switching, VPN, Load Balancing etc.) § Strong understanding of Windows Server. § Fundamental Linux knowledge. § Understanding of application infrastructure architecture. § Experience with data center virtualization and storage technologies. § Experience moving workloads from physical to virtual environments. § Strong identity skills: Active Directory and SSO solutions like Azure AD, Okta, ADFS etc. § Experience r | |
