Description:     Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), which provides installation/base management and facilities engineering worldwide. The primary capability areas of Planate are on Architectural Engineering Design & Planning, Program & Construction Management and Technical & Consulting Services.

The Architect/ Design Manager will be responsible for the application and interpretation of architectural requirements, conducting architectural studies surveys and investigations, developing designs and performing team architectural reviews.

The work assignment will be in Naples, Italy.

This position is contigent to the award of the contract.

Key responsibilities:

Ensure completion of projects involving design and review by applying seasoned professional technical knowledge and experience
Develop Design-Build Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Design-Bid-Build documents (full plans and specifications) for projects to be executed by construction contractors
Perform all necessary planning, scheduling and coordination necessary to help the government assure that the design is complete and within the design budget and the allotted construction budget
Interpret customer requirements. Perform surveys and field investigations to determine existing condition of facilities and layout information, obtain equipment data, dimensions, and make design checks
Develop, from client requirements, conceptual designs and diagrammatic sketches for multiple facility types
Ensure concept planning and designs are compatible with the Activity master plan by facilitating the design Charrette and Functional Analysis Concept Development (FACD) processes
Perform necessary calculations, develop possible alternatives, and present findings and alternatives in written reports and meetings with customers
Implements and enforces all applicable architectural engineering codes, including but not limited to; Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs), Whole Building Design Guide, and Italian norms and laws
A thorough knowledge and understanding of Italian laws, norms, practices and procedures as applicable to the design and construction of facilities
Facilitate coordination of design criteria and information with the client, the A&E and other interested Government representatives (CONUS and OCONUS)
Coordinate technical and administrative requirements with local, host country or other authorities when necessary, obtaining required approval actions
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

Degree in Architecture
Minimum of five years experience in planning and development of new concepts for long range recapitalization programs and knowledgeable in related fields such as civil, structural, electrical, fire protection, mechanical and architectural engineering
Knowledgeable in office automation systems and software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
Proficient in written and verbal English
