My name is Andy Atamaniuk and I am a Mechanical Engineer. I spent most of my career designing and developing medical devices, namely in the hearing aid space. I received my BASC in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Canada in 1983. I am originally from Canada and worked as a design engineer for Unitron Hearing Aids for 8 years. In 1997, I was recruited by ReSound, a leading hearing aid developer and manufacturer, to lead the R&D product development team and I moved to San Francisco, California. Most recently, I enjoyed working as ME Director R&D for Earlens, a hi-tech start up hearing aid company. I have extensive experience in the medical device development process including design control, project management, DFM, FMEA, hands-on detailed ME design, process development, transfer to manufacturing and cross functional team work. I am proficient in Solid Works and enjoy the design process. I am an excellent communicator and over the years have enjoyed hiring, mentoring, working with and leading engineering teams. I am looking for ME contract engineering opportunities in design of products that improve people’s lives.
